The most important thing about being a good snowboarder is to keep having fun and progress. Being able to express yourself through your own riding and having your own individual style is priceless! Putting all your focus into looking like the next guy is not worth the effort because it won’t ever be as natural for you then doing things your own way. People want to remember you the way you are and if you are having fun, nothing can touch you! Be original!

The best skill you can acquire when you try to improve your riding is to improve your ollie. Being stable when ollying means being a smooth operator. Doing precise ollies means being exact in your movements and staying in control when doing tricks or riding in general. If you have a good “pop” you look lighter and more power full when riding so keep up the good work!

The most important element that makes you deserve a free snowboard set up is being able to help sell more products at your local snowboard shop. By riding a specific board for example you are pushing that brand so other people can look at you and say “I like that board too and it look like it rides so well! I am going to go buy one.”. Being popular is one thing, selling product is an other. If you are sellable, people will use you and therefore you will have free stuff. So here you go… free stuff isn’t as free as you thought after all! Riding what ever you want is in a way a more free of speech thing to do if you think about it!

The best way to train to go snowboarding is to simply snowboard. Nothing beat snowboarding if you are trying to be in shape to do so. Do you think runners go climbing to train for the next marathon… Doing physical things is always good to stay nimble in the off season but snowboarding use specific muscle groups so you just need to put some mileage on to your board and you will get strong at it! Unless you ride switch all the time, doing other sports can be good to straighten yourself from riding one way side way all the time. Stretching help lenghting yourself because muscles have the tendency to tight up and to keep you crooked. Feeling like a ginger bread cookie is not really the best thing ever ether!
